23 Mobile Things - Thing 5 - Notetaking

I'm not sure if any app will replace Post-It notes, but I'm willing to give it a try!

Springpad
I find this app pretty intriguing.  For Thing 5, we are concentrating on notetaking, but this app seems to have a lot more potential.  I will be investigating further!  At first glance, it reminds me of a mash-up of Pinterest and Delicious.  Our first instruction for exploring Springpad was to create a quick note in a new notebook.  The app is very easy to use. I was able to add a couple of photos, audio and a reminder.  I created a notebook entitled Bog People.  If you click on the notebook below and then Bog People, you should be able to read my note and also scroll through the photos and play the audio.

Bamboo Paper
This app looks absolutely fun! I could not find "Bamboo Paper" when I searched the App Store on my iPhone but I did find "Bamboo Loop."  I think this app is made by the same company, but it appears that the iPad app has many more functions.  I was very limited in what I could do on my iPhone, but will try it on an iPad soon.  Here is my first attempt at Bamboo Loop.  I sent this to my boss.  The text is written with my finger on my small iPhone screen.  I need a stylus!

Remember the Milk
This app seems easy to use.  I did have a little trouble trying to enter a task that repeats every Monday.  Since I use my Google calendar to keep track of things to do, I am not sure I will use this type of app.

Dragon Dictation
This is a great app! I think I will use it the most to speak-to-text for messages, but I guess I could text myself things like, "remember to pick up milk."

I probably won't be giving up Post-It notes anytime soon, but it is nice to know these apps are available.

I guess this would be most appropriate if I had a smart phone. One more reason to bite that bullet :)
