First Kisses

Do you remember your first kiss?  Mine was behind the lilac bushes at Pillsbury Park in Kerkhoven, Minnesota.  Our end-of-school picnic was at the park and it was a special day...the end of elementary school (aka 6th grade).  My co-kisser was the man of my 6th grade dreams...Gary Beckman.  Alas, we didn't work out as a couple and are both happily married to our true loves, but Gary will always be my first kiss(er).

April is Poetry Month, so once a year I attempt to write one poem during the month of April.  Since I work in a library, I enjoy creating book spine poetry.  Here is this year's poem about a first kiss (you may need to scroll down to see all of it).  No, I won't be giving up my day job.

Actual book spine poem...

Happy Poetry Month!

That's awesome, I may have to steel...mostly because I am running out of ideas : )

You get an A for a very creative idea. I don't think I've ever seen this form of poetry before. It would be fun to play with with the books on my own shelf. My first kiss wasn't until the late age of 16 and I seem to remember smashing teeth.
